Breakfast at Tiffany’s-

One of the greatest pairings in Hollywood is of course Hubert de Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn. Who can forget the most iconic little black dress of all time? It’s because of Hepburn that we all love the classic “LBD” and pearl necklace combo, and even more so if said pearls are from Tiffany’s.

American Hustle-

This 2013 film brings 70’s vintage back into the future! In the film, we see choice pieces from designers like Gucci to Diane Von Furstenberg. Amy Adam’s character is notoriously known for her deep v neckline dresses, which were all the rage in the age of disco.

The Great Gatsby (2013)

Set in the roaring 20’s period, this movie epitomizes extravagance! The movie’s costume designer, Catherine Martin, delighted us with outfits by Prada, and jewelry by Tiffany & Co, that drew inspiration from the era. Carey Mulligan’s portrayal of Daisy (and her fabulous headpieces) left us wanting to go back in time to enjoy these lavish gems.

Atonement-

This silk number is an ode to 1930’s/40’s England and was even voted as the “Best Film Costume of all Time.” Keira Knightley left everyone green with envy when she appeared on screen with the famous emerald colored silk gown.

Marie Antoinette-

Kirsten Dunst portrays this infamous and doomed French queen in all her grandeur! Sofia Coppola’s ode to 18th century decadence filled with a plethora of ball gowns and our favorite details- custom-made Manolo Blahnik heels worthy of royalty.

American Gigolo-

Richard Gere definitely woos the audience with this crime drama film. Along with being, superficial and narcissistic Gere’s character is also very well dressed throughout the film. Armani lent his hand with designing the suits worn by Gere in the film, honing in on the classic masculine look that is the modus operandi for the line.

Sex and the City-

Throughout the years we were dying over Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe and her covetable shoe collection. So, it’s wasn’t a big surprise to see even the incredible wardrobe put together by Patricia Field in the 2008 film adaptation of the show. Standout pieces include Carrie’s Vivienne Westwood’s wedding gown, her cobalt blue satin Manolo’s, and Jennifer Hudson’s Louis Vuitton handbag.

Moulin Rouge!-

If there’s one director who loves to go over top in his films, it is definitely Baz Luhrmann! His 2001 film brings us back to the “Boheme” period in France, and makes us fall head-over-heels with Nicole Kidman’s costumes. From her diamond-studded corset in her first scene, to the Bollywood-inspired costumes later into the movie, we are still in love.

Black Swan –

Natalie Portman enraptures the audience with her performance in this film, with a little help from the beautiful ballerina costumes, courtesy of uber-chic fashion house(and Portman favorite), Rodarte.
